SUV Townsend Camp 108

The local camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is Townsend Camp 108.  On this page you can discover the storied history of this camp, as well as find a few photos that were rescued off the old, now defunct camp web site.  It is hoped to eventually rebuild a complete website for the camp, but for now we have received permission to place a page on this General Charles H. Grosvenor Civil War Round Table website so that visitors can find out about our camp.  Thank you to the CWRT!

One of the unique things about Camp 108 is that we are chartered out of Frost, Ohio, a small village in Rome Township of Athens County, very near the Washington County border, that has one of the very few remaining meeting halls of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) in the State of Ohio.  The GAR Hall is in bad need of repair.  Any donations to help with repair would be greatly appreciated.  We are in the process of putting together an application to place this hall on the National Registry of Historic Places.
